For optimal performance, the Zeus 1000W Xtreme PPFD CO2 LED is designed to be used with supplemental CO2 in grow areas of 1.5×1.5m with short distances from the canopy to the light. However, CO2 supplementation is not mandatory, and if it's not used, a greater canopy distance is recommended to achieve the optimal PPFD levels. This can result in an extended coverage area of 1.8×1.8m with lower intensity levels.

Supplementing with carbon dioxide (CO2) can significantly improve crop yield when used correctly. As a general rule, maintaining a ratio of 1:1 between PPFD levels and CO2 concentration is recommended, up to a maximum PPFD of 1500 µmol/s/m2 with a corresponding CO2 level of 1500 PPM.
